![]() Now imagine you’re 11 years old and the cat knocks your phone off the counter then you toss your book bag a little harder than you should have and your phone screen shatters. Wow that was easy! Mike was now on his way to becoming addicted to the convenience of technology at his fingertips. Chris replaced the screen and battery quickly and saved us money. I thought it was odd to meet there yet felt comfortable and safe as it was a public location. We scheduled to meet at Dunkin in Dayville. I contacted Chris through Facebook messenger and received his prompt response within an hour. I saw a friend had liked their Facebook page so I reached out to her and received positive feedback. Scrolling through Facebook one afternoon I came across iPhix iPhones, LLC. I called around for estimates and the average price to replace the screen was $100-$150. She had recently cracked the screen and upgraded to the latest model and you know what they say…one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Luckily, I found iPhix iPhones, LLC a few months back when Mike became the proud owner of my daughters’ hand me down iPhone 6. And don’t forget the shattered screen when the phone accidentally slipped from our hands. I think it’s safe to say we’ve all experienced the feeling of panic at least once after realizing we left our phone somewhere or forget a charger and the battery is on its last bar or when our phone got wet (like falling in the toilet) and we waited patiently for days to see if the bag of rice routine was going to work. Oh, and let’s not forget about connecting with friends and family and staying up to date with the latest news and gossip through the various social media options available. We’ve become so dependent on our cell phones not just to store our most used phone numbers, to also access a world of information in a quick internet search, to take a picture or video to capture a moment or tell a story and for quick communication and instant reply through a text. Technology has quickly become an essential part of our daily lives, a necessity for both the young and the old. Remember the days when we had to memorize phone numbers? We’re lucky now if we have any phone numbers memorized.
